I am a lecturer at the statistics group of the School of Information Sciences, University of Tampere.

In my research I consider nonparametric and robust methods for multivariate medical data, especially for hemodynamic data coming from the DYNAMIC study. I focus here on the usuage of two or more different scatter matrices for this purpose. This work belongs to Hannu Oja's research project "Nonparametric and Robust Multivariate Methods".

My general research interest comprehend invariant coordinate selection (ICS), independent component analysis (ICA), independent subspace analysis (ISA), nonparametric and robust statistical methods and computational statistics.

I'm a member of the Royal Statistical Society, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and the Finnish Society of Biostatistics.
