Prepositions and postpositions

Prepositions and postpositions are an integral part of the Finnish language.  Some cases (comitative and abessive) are even slowly being replaced by prepositions and postpositions that have the same meaning.  It is important to remember what case a particular preposition or postposition will take; a great deal of them use the genitive, but not all.  In addition, it is important to remember that what we consider prepositions in English are often cases in Finnish, for example: in --> inessive.
